The Big Relaunch

The long-awaited makeover of my blog is finally here! Well, you might not have been waiting for it, but I sure have been. I'd been telling Daddy for months that my blog design was stale and more befitting the aesthetic sensibilities and technological acumen of a middle-aged lawyer than those of a bright-eyed, tech-savvy member of Generation Next.

Daddy kept promising to come up with a plan to "jazz up" the blog -- the use of which expression should have been a warning sign that Daddy is more than a little behind the times -- but all he ever came up with was a suggestion to switch to a sans serif font. So I contracted an underemployed web marketing executive to work up some design proposals, and this is what we came up with. I thought the whole "2.0" thing was a bit overdone and sooo 2005, but I just turned 2 on January 6 and I'm a sucker for double entendres. So here we are.

You'll notice something about the picture above; there's lots of space around me. Lots of space. That's because Mommy and Daddy finally got us out of that cramped 2-bedroom condo and bought a house! I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. I may be almost as excited as Mommy and Daddy's real estate agent Jerry, who only had to show them like a bazillion houses before they picked this one.

But the wait paid off. My new house actually has multiple rooms, so we no longer have to make do with a dining room/living room/play area/home office combo.
There are so many rooms to explore and boundaries to break; it's very liberating! Best of all I have a big backyard to roam and... drum roll... my very own swing set!

I should also throw in the obligatory holiday pics. It's been a whirlwind since November, when we celebrated Thanksgiving at the home of Aunt Michelle, Uncle Trey and cousins Charlie and Ellie (pictured above teaching me how to plop down stairs on my bum), along with Nana and Pa (pictured supervising me riding cousin Ellie's scooter).

Then we had Mommy's birthday on Dec. 19, Christmas, New Year's, and capped it all off with the double birthday celebration for me and Aunt Trinity (Jan. 6).

Mommy hates having all the birthdays and holidays jammed together, but Daddy likes it because he can buy a single gift for two or more occasions. I told Mommy she should have him trained better by now. Anyway, after all that celebrating, Mommy and I were dog tired.

I hope you all like the new blog design and visit often!

Love,

Henry David ("HD")
